Boyle GAA club notes

Senior Club
Boyle had an exciting first round opener against Padraig Pearses in the Senior Championship on Sunday. After making the long journey to Woodmount, the lads tore in to the home side and amassed a 12 point lead in the second half, with goals from James Bolger, Enda Smith and Donie Smith. However, Pearses hauled back the deficit with the aid of a significant breeze in the second half, and in the last play of the game scored a goal for it to finish level on a scoreline of 2-10 to 3-07.

The senior team now face Tulsk in Strokestown next Saturday at 4pm.
Our Junior A team face St. Brigids away next Sunday at 3pm in the first round of the Junior A Championship.
Minor Club
Our U12 Division 2 team played St Michael’s in Cootehall on Saturday morning and the Division 5 team played Elphin/Ballinameen in Orchard Park on Saturday afternoon. Results for these games:

Ladies Club
The Boyle Intermediate team overcame Padraig Pearses at 11am in Woodmount on Sunday. Well done to the girls.
Our U12 girls were also on the road in the South of the County where they traveled to Johnstown to play Clann na nGael at 6pm on Sunday. The girls showed great spirit but lost to a strong Clann team. In total 25 girls made the journey and played so well done to all.
