BOYLE SCOUTS 1ST 11TH ROSCOMMON
Registration Night for all New and Existing members will be held on Wednesday 18th September between 7.00 pm and 9.00 pm in the Scout Den. All Parents who wish to enrol a child for the coming year, must please register them on this night. The minimum age is strictly 6 years old. Please note that while we are accepting registrations for New Members, places will be dependent both on returning member numbers and Leader numbers and therefore cannot be immediately guaranteed. Weekly meetings will resume where possible the following week, beginning Monday 23rd September. We are short on Leaders, across Beavers Cub, Scouts and Ventures and are appealing to anyone, to please give it some thought, as without more people getting involved, we just will not be able to keep all Sections open.

Roscommon County Council established an annual Sports Bursary in honour of the late Dermot Earley. Boyle GAA Club is delighted to announce that this year’s Social Initiative Trip will be to the National Ploughing Championships. This year it is taking place in Carlow and the Club will travel down on Wednesday, September 18th in the Club Rossie Bus! SAFETALK
SafeTALK ‘suicide alertness for everyone’ is a half day training programme that prepares participants to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources. These specific skills are called suicide alertness and are taught with the expectation that the person learning them will use them to help reduce suicide risk in their communities. There was a food producer and provider networking event held in ‘The Spool Factory’ on Monday the 2nd of September. It was a great success in promoting food tourism and the use of local produce in the area. Keep an eye out for more ‘Taste the Island’ events going on in the coming months.

Úna Bhán Tourism are delighted to be offering free computer training courses again. This unique opportunity to develop digital skills and learn basic functions is for beginners or those eager to improve in a fun and easy way. The course includes how to set up an email account, send and receive emails / how to search the internet in a safe and secure way / Complete vehicle taxation online instead of paper form & how to set up and use online banking. More importantly for the farming community the training will teach how to register your farm on Agfood.ie, which allows you to Record the Birth of a Calf; Complete and Print Farm-to-Farm Movements & Print your Herd Profile for your Farm Accountant.
