Gardaí are warning motorists of black ice around Boyle this morning with many local roads remaining in a dangerous condition.
It follows an incident when a road gritter went off the road outside Boyle early this morning. The vehicle has since been removed.
A car left the road between Frenchpark and Castlerea earlier while a number of vehicles have left the road between Frenchpark and Carrick on Shannon.
The good news is the weather is due to improve later today and the snow and frost clear.
