There has been confusion in recent days among householders in the general Boyle area in relation to waste collection.
A letter issued recently from Barna Recycling advising customers of a new system of waste collection would become effective from 3rd February whereby “bins will be collected using a pay by use system”. The letter went on to say bags and tags will no longer be available in shops.
Many concerned householders contacted Barna Recycling who have confirmed that the letter issued in error and only refers to refuse collection in Co. Sligo and not Co. Roscommon.
There is presently no “pay by use” system in operation in Co. Roscommon so it’s business as usual!
