Angling festival continues Sunday
Close on 100 boats have registed for the two day Boyle Angling Club Pike fishing competition which got underway from the Doon Shore Saturday morning.
The weather held dry and the sun made an appearance as the flotilla left the shore at 11am.
First fished weighted at Doon was caught by a proud young Sligo angler Enda Hughes (pictured).
Enda’s fish weighed 10.2lbs and was released straight away into the water.
On Sunday, fishing will commence at 10am and conclude at 5pm
There is €5000 in prize money up for grabs.
The heaviest fish is worth €2,500 plus the Moonstone Jewellers Cup.
Presentation of prizes will take place on Sunday 6th on Doon Shore.
