O’Rourke’s appointment delayed

Former Louth manager Aidan O’Rourke’s appointment as the new Roscommon Senior team manager has been delayed.
O’Rourke is set to replace Kevin McStay who retired recently.
In a ststement issued on Monday night, Roscommon GAA said: “Roscommon GAA had hoped to put the name of the new senior football team manager before a county board meeting tonight. Unfortunately, our preferred candidate has requested additional time to confirm one additional member of his backroom team”.
A committee made up of the County Chairman Seamus Sweeney, Co. Secretary Brian Carroll, Co. Treasurer David O Connor, former Senior Football Captain Niall Carty, and former Co. footballer Ciarán Heneghan had been tasked with the recruitment process.
