Boyle and Sligo Credit Unions to amalgamate
It has been confirmed to Boyletoday.com that Boyle and Sligo Credit Unions are to amalgamate.
Speaking to Boyletoday.com in advance of an AGM to ratify the amalgamation, Boyle Credit Union Manager Joe Currid said the amalgamation will strengthen Boyle C.U. and will provide their members with a wider range of services.
“We are all very excited at this amalgamation. Going forward we will be in a position to offer Debit Cards and Current Accounts to our members which we could not have been able to do in a stand alone operation. Combined, we will have assets in the region of €120m”.
In a move that has been nearly 18 months in planning, the Credit Unions will be rebranded as ‘North West Credit Union”.
Mr Currid confirmed that all jobs are protected and all staff will remain as before with operations continuing as normal in Boyle albeit it on a bigger and better scale with additional services.
“We are all very excited at the prospect the amalgamation will bring to our members – it’s a win win for everyone” Mr. Currid told Boyletoday.com.
The plans have to be ratified by members of both Credit Unions at upcoming AGM’s and Mr Currid said they would be recommending acceptance of the “coming together” of both Credit Unions to the members at the AGM of Boyle Credit Union which will take place on Monday 16th December 2024 at 6.30pm. This is a virtual meeting and members can register at www.boylecreditunion.com.
