French classes commencing in Boyle in January
Exactly one year ago Julien Porzadny, a native French teacher based in the Ballymote area, decided it was high time to share his knowledge and experience of the French language with anyone interested to learn French, to speak French and to enjoy doing so…
This is why he decided to knock at the door of the Boyle Family Resource Centre where he is now teaching French to adults. His next 8-week adult beginners course is starting on the 23rd of January, from 6:15pm to 7:15pm. Students will learn about explaining a recipe in French, shopping at the local market and ordering in French at the restaurant. It is a very fun, interactive and practical course.
On top of this, as the Leaving Cert exams are soon approaching, Julien has decided to bring his “French Oral Prep” course to the Spool Factory in Boyle and help any Senior Cycle students face with brio and confidence their 12 minutes of speaking French at their oral exam. This 8-week course is made of 8 classes of 1 hour each, from 4:40pm to 5:40pm and will begin on Tuesday the 23rd of January, finishing on the 19th of March with no classes on the 13th of February. To make sure each student can make the most of this course, there is a maximum of 10 spots available.
Now if you would like to know a little more about Julien: He landed in beautiful Ireland in 2005 and has not left since. After teaching French to all levels and ages in Dublin for over 15 years he decided to settle down in the West. Yes, Dublin is a beautiful city full of life but the Connaught region has many hidden gems ready to be discovered… again and again.
Julien has a BA in English, a BA in French, a Graduate Diploma in Education from Dublin City University and is a registered teacher with the Teaching Council. He also has experience as an examiner for the Leaving Cert French Oral exam and is the first teacher to have brought the DELF exam to a secondary school in Ireland.
Available for hire, Julien also happily gives face to face and online tuition to Junior cert/Leaving cert students and adults, to help them achieve their goal speaking, writing or simply appreciating the French language and culture. Through the Languages Connect initiative, Julien can also bring French to local primary schools.
