Roscommon County Council intends to commence its review of the existing Boyle Local Area Plan 2015-2021, along with the Roscommon Town Local Area Plan 2014 – 2020, to prepare a new Local Area Plan for both towns for the period 2023 – 2029. These Local Area Plans will be prepared to be consistent with the strategic aims and policy objectives of the recently adopted Roscommon County Development Plan 2022-2028.
In order to stimulate debate and encourage participation in this process an Issues Paper has been prepared for both towns and submissions and observations are invited on the topics raised.
The Issues Paper is available for inspection from 30th June 2022 to 29th July 2022 (both dates inclusive) and may be viewed in the following ways:
• Online – On the dedicated Roscommon County Development Plan website: www.rosdevplan.ie
• Roscommon County Council Offices – At the Planning Department, Roscommon County Council, Áras an Chontae, Roscommon, F42 VR98, during normal opening hours.
Roscommon County Council hereby invites any interested parties to make submissions or observations to inform the preparation of the Local Area Plan and to ensure that it will deliver an overall strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of Roscommon town.
The deadline for receipt of all submissions is 4.30pm on the 29th July 2022. Late submissions will not be accepted.
