‘Live@culturalquarter’ kicks off in Boyle this Friday
Boyle Craft Shop will host the first event of the ‘live@culturalquarter summer series of live performances this Friday 20th with ‘Not Just Words & Music’. This promises to be a night of mellow tones, electric soundscapes, lyrical intrigue and divine singing accompanied by classically trained musicians in the intimate surrounds of a quirky craft and book shop.
The event is part of an exciting list of ‘Summer Cultural Events’ that has been announced for Boyle.
The ‘live@culturalquarter’ events take place within the ‘King House Cultural Quarter’ which encompasses King House Cultural and Historical Centre, Boyle Craft Shop, King House Tea Rooms and King House Courtyard.
This project is funded by Roscommon County Council and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media under the Local Live Performance Programming Scheme.
The programme will showcase and support the re-emergence of professional Roscommon-based performers across a variety of genres following the crippling impact of the Covid ’19 pandemic on the live performance industry.
It will include:
Friday May 20th – ‘Not Just Words and Music’
Sunday May 29th – ‘Picnic in the Courtyard’
Sunday June 5th – ‘Mr and Mrs Hake and the Magic Princess Fish’
Sunday June 5th – ‘Three Fat Women of Antibes’
