Lough Key Classic cycle in Boyle this Sunday
The highly popular and award winning cycling sportive – the Lough Key Classic, run by local club Curlieu Wheelers will take place this Sunday May 12th with two distances on offer.
Commencing at 9am, riders on the 120k route will depart from the Sports Complex in Boyle (Eircode F52 HK46) before taking on a challenging route pedaling through counties Roscommon, Sligo and Leitrim.
At 9.30am the 70k riders will also depart from the Sports Complex on an equally challenging journey.
Both distances will have a mid way stop for refreshments in King House.
Over 60 marshals, Gardai and motorbike outriders will be assisting in the smooth running of the event which attracts a large number of cyclists from all over Ireland each year.
The entry for both events is €30 for Cycling Ireland members and €50 for non cycling Ireland members (includes €20 one day licence fee to Cycling Ireland). Entry includes a hot meal at the end of both cycles and the top quality hospitality and professional marshalling that the event has become famous for.
So popular is the event, which was the winner of the Connacht Cycling ‘Leisure Event of the Year 2022’, that numbers will be capped this year.
