Failte Ireland and CIE Tours delegation visit Boyle
Representatives from Failte Ireland and CIE Tours International visited Boyle on Tuesday.
During their day in the town, they visited King House, Boyle Abbey and Lough Key Forest Park.
In King House, the representatives were briefed on planned developments in the area by Brian Nerney, Chairman Boyle Town Team and Councillor John Cummins.
Also in attendance were Patricia Golden, Curator King House, Rhona McGrath, Roscommon Co Co Arts Officer, Deputy Marc Mc Sharry, Councillor Paul Taylor Sligo Co Co, Sabrina Brady, Discover Boyle/Una Bhan, Siobhan Gallagher, Boyle Chamber of Commerce and Neil McGarry.
Stephen Cotter Chief Operating Officer of CIE Tours International and Martin Donnelly, Product Sales and Distribution Manager for Failte Ireland were given a tour of King House by Tour Guide Mary Lavin and were visibly impressed with the many exhibits on show including the history of the House, the King family, Connaught Rangers, McAleese Collection and the new exhibits planned for this coming season.
In Lough Key Forest Park, manager Louise Fitzpatrick met the delegation and briefed them on all the Park has to offer.
The group also visited Boyle Abbey.
Lunch was provided courtesy of Boyle Chamber of Commerce.
The purpose of the trip was to familiarize those in attendance on all Boyle has to offer the tourist and in particular, CIE Tours International, in the hope that Boyle and it’s attractions will be included in their itinerary in future years.
