More Arts Festival video’s now available to view online

Three more specially recorded videos are now available on the Boyle Arts Festival YouTube channel. All are free to view through links on  www.boylearts.com 

Friday last saw the release of the final lunchtime concert performance for 2021, with a specially recorded video featuring soprano Eimear Harper accompanied by pianist Luke Lally Maguire. The concert was recorded in the Main Salon at King House.

Also on Friday, another specially commissioned song composed by local musician Donal O’Connor was premiered. ‘I Am The River’ is a brand new song that looks at the history of Boyle from the viewpoint of the personified river that flows through and gave the town its name. This one is not to be missed!

For those that were unable to attend RTÉ news journalist Carole Coleman’s interview with Professor Kingston Mills during the Festival, a video recording of the full interview is also available to view. 

There are already a number of videos available to watch online now, through www.boylearts.com They include  Abbey Community College student Amy O’Neill playing harp in Frybrook House, along with artist Laura Earley visiting 3 premises in Boyle that retain the mosaic shop fronts, featured in her book, ‘Roscommon’s Mosaic Tradition’. 

Artist Susan Mannion describes the process behind her work “Within our Grasp”, a piece that can be viewed in Boyle Library courtyard, and singer Donal O’Connor performs his song, ‘The Queen of Main Street’.

 ‘Sraith Na Búille’ (The Boyle Suite) the special piece composed by Dr. Ryan Molloy for the inaugural King House Piano Commission is also available to watch online along with the two other lunchtime concerts with Luke Lally Maguire and Molly de Búrca.

The Moylurg Writers, who are always a popular item in the Festival programme, have produced their own film that features members’ music, song , prose and poetry that BAF is happy to share with you.
