The Office of Public Works has confirmed that Boyle Abbey will remain closed during the Coronavirus crisis.
The Abbey was scheduled to reopen for the summer season on Thursday last March 26th 2020.
No new opening date is available at this point in time.
A number of other heritage sites which were also due to reopen at varying dates this month including the following, will remain closed:
- Athenry Castle
- Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery
- Casino Marino
- Céide Fields Visitor Centre
- Ionad an Bhlascaoid Mhóir
- Ormond Castle
- Parke’s Castle
- Portumna Castle
- Roscrea Heritage
- Sligo Abbey
- Swiss Cottage
- The Mainguard, Clonmel
