Minister for Communications Denis Naughten will appear before the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Communications this morning.
The Roscommon based politican will face questions on the proposed An Post closure of 159 rural post offices which includes a number in his own constituency.
Also present at the meeting will be representatives from An Post, the Post Office Networks and representatives of An Post Mailing Centres.
There has been widespread condemnation of the proposed closures with many referring to it as a further attack on rural Ireland.
