BOYLE GOLF CLUB RESULTS
It has been a great few weeks for the younger golfers of the club with Lewis Shaw winning the Strokeplay competition held on Sunday the 12th August with a great score of 62 nett, followed this week by Ciaran Beirne who had his first big win in the club on Sunday the 19th August, claiming the James Shivnan Memorial Cup with an unbeatable 44 points with yet another young golfer, Cillian Doyle, taking second place with 42 points. Well done to all three, who will surely be hard to overlook for places on interclub teams in 2019 if they continue to bring in such strong scores. Other prizes in the James Shivnan Memorial competition went to Charlie O’Donnell who took the prize for best gross score and Tom Kearney who came 3rd , continuing a recent run of form, as he was also the winner of the 12 hole Stableford competition held on Thursday the 16th August with 28 points, beating Michael Simon and Lorcan Egan in to 2nd and 3rd respectively, all 3 having 28 points and separated only on “countback”. We were gratified to note a strong turnout for the competition in memory of James Shivnan and we wish to thank all those friends of James who travelled from other clubs to take part.
