Traffic advice for Connacht Final
The Connacht Football Finals will take place on Sunday 17th June 2018 in Dr. Hyde Park, Roscommon
1pm: Connacht GAA U20 Football Championship – Roscommon v Mayo
4pm: Connacht GAA Senior Football Championship – Roscommon v Galway
An Garda Siochana have issued the following traffic advice for match day:
Parking is available in the environs of Roscommon Town. Public Car Parks are situated at the following location
- Circular Road North Side opposite Mart
- Castle Street Rear of Rockford’s/opposite Hynes Pharmacy
- The Square rear of Jail/front and rear of Bank of Ireland
- Main Street East/West sides of the Street and rear of premises West side of Street
- The Court House front and side of Building
- Sacred Heart Church to the side of the building
- New Co Council Car Parks off Convent Road/St Ciarans Road
No Traffic will be permitted to leave the car parks for a period after the games, in order to allow foot patrons, leave the area safely.
Patrons should be aware that illegally parked vehicles will be impounded or clamped and will be liable to a fine of €130.
Drivers should be aware that illegally or improperly parked vehicles have the potential to cause traffic disruption, obstruction and difficulty to emergency vehicles that may need to access the environs of Roscommon Town and the Streets that surround the Dr Hyde Park Stadium.
Patrons travelling from Galway are advised to travel to Dr Hyde Park via M6 to Athlone and onwards to Roscommon via the N61, alternatively Patrons can travel; via the N63 to Ballygar, Athleague and onwards to Roscommon.
NOTE:
All ticket holders with Terrace Tickets will be permitted to enter Dr. Hyde Park via the entrances on the Athlone Road (N61 south side of stadium.)
All Stand and uncovered seating ticket holders will only be permitted to enter the stadium via the entrance on the Golf Links Road (north side of stadium)
Traffic Diversions:
Two Traffic Diversions will be implemented as required, the first diversion will operate via the L1808/0 on the N60 to N61 with traffic turning left on to the N61 travelling to Colteige Cross turning right on to the L1805/0 crossing the N63 travelling via Kilteevan on the L1806 to the N61 at Carrageen’s for traffic travelling east. This diversion will operate in reverse for travelling west.
The second diversion will operate from the Donamon junction L1629/0 with the N60 to the junction of the L1818/0 turning left into the village of Castlecoote and into Roscommon Town via the R366. This diversion will operate in reverse for travelling west.
No Traffic will be permitted to entered Roscommon Town for 1-hour post-match ( this includes Athlone Road and Golf Links Road).
All diversion routes will be clearly signposted.
