A man has been charged in relation to an attack on a 90 year old man in Castlerea last week.
The 32 year old was brought before a special sitting of Carrick on Shannon District Court.
He was remanded to appear before Harristown Court on Friday next.
The attack last Monday evening on the well known retired businessman has shocked the town of Castlerea.
Local people took to the streets in protest at the attack on Thursday and to show support with the victim.
