Boyle Chamber of Commerce news

An enthusiastic committee of Boyle Chamber welcomed Padraig Langan and Michael Keville to its first meeting under the new leadership of Alan Cooney ably assisted by Bodo Funke.

After a busy year working on Boyle Town initiatives,  we hope to see more new members join us over the coming year. Projects throughout the year included our Christmas Lights which required a number of fundraising activities – Christmas Mega Draw and  the Good Friday Quiz –  events which to date raised over 16k, and while over 25k has already been spent on our new lights we hope to enhance the Town again this year with some additional features.

It was noted that almost 50 people lent their support to the erecting of the Christmas Lights/organising events/and The Town enhancement Clean-ups and has proven many hands make light work but more importantly promotes a town spirit working together for Boyle.

The Lough Key Shuttle Bus is now running three times daily for the summer season on it’s 2nd year and already we have had over 150 passengers despite our inclement weather, the Chamber acknowledge greatly the support of the businesses of Boyle to this initiative. The main sponsor of the bus once again this year is Boyletoday.com

As a group we are delighted to be able to support the lighting of Church of Ireland and Boyle Abbey, which greatly enhance the entrances to our town at night. Of course no support to town projects would be possible without the weekly support from the loyal customers of Boyle Chamber Lotto.

Last year was also busy, lending our support to the very successful Bank of Ireland Business and Community Expo. Boyle Chamber members many of which are leading Boyle Town and more initiatives is all inclusive and welcomes anyone who is interested in bettering Boyle though Business,Tourism, Arts, and Town Enhancement to join us. We look forward to working together in the coming year but assistance and expertise is always welcome as all of the Committee are involved on other committees to include GAA, Arts Festival, Musical Society. Court House Action Group, Scouts, Credit Union,  etc  and welcome extra hands and voices always.

On a final note we look forward to the spectacular 10 days events ahead of us thanks to Boyle Arts Festival and plan a Town Clean up collecting at the Crescent Wednesday 22nd July to ensure our Town is looking its best for the many visitors passing through.
