Final preparations are ongoing for the Club’s biggest social event of the year–the Annual Monster Christmas Quiz, which will be held in St Joseph’s Hall on Friday the 27th of December. This is always a great opportunity to meet with our returned exiles and to discuss the happenings of the year gone by, as well as pitting of wits on Tony Conboy’s questions. Proceedings will commence at 8.30pm.
It was expected that the playing season had ended, but plans are afoot for a special charity football match to be played at 12.30pm on St Stephen’s Day in the Abbey Park between the Intermediate champions of 2005 and the current champions. This should be a very special event as bragging rights will be clearly established by whichever team comes out on top. More importantly, the proceeds from the occasion will be donated to SHOUT (Sligo Hospital Oncology Unit Trust) and a large attendance would be appreciated to raise funds for this worthy cause.
