Cootehall based duo are Rally Champs.
Cootehall residents Cormac Phelan and Katja Auhl being presented with the “Dunlop Junior National Rally Champions 2014” award by Joe Corcoran President of Motorsport Ireland at the National Rally Championship awards on Saturday night last in the Sheraton Hotel in Athlone.
The event was attended by over 300 people.
Cormac is from Drumsna, Co Leitrim and Katja is from Cortober, Carrick on Shannon, Co Roscommon.
Both Cormac and Katja live in Cootehall just outside Boyle.
Cormac has also been nominated for the “Billy Coleman Award” this year and is one of only seven finalists for this very prestigious award which is offered by Motorsport Ireland to up and coming Rally Drivers. The award offers mentoring and €50K in Sponsorship to the winner.
Both Cormac and Katja work in National Automation Limited, Deerpark, Boyle, Co. Roscommon alongside 12 colleagues with an additional 7 colleagues in Citywest, Dublin 24.
