The final turnout at the by election in Boyle tonight is reported to be 46%.
There had been a surge late this evening with hopes that over 40% turnout could be achieved in the town.
By 10pm this had been surpassed.
In County Roscommon, the figure for those casting their votes is estimated at 30%
