It has emerged that 196 women from County Roscommon travelled to the UK for abortions in the last six years.
Figures obtained by the Roscommon People newspaper this week show that the 196 women from Roscommon travelled to England and Wales for pregnancy terminations between 2008 and 2013.
The breakdown is a follows:
2008 – 25 abortions
2009 – 38 abortions
2010 – 42 abortions
2011– 36 abortions
2012 – 28 abortions
2013 – 27 abortions
