1916 Rising remembered in Boyle
A commemoration ceremony to mark the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Rising was held on Sunday morning at the Courthouse in Boyle.
Present were members of the Boyle Branch Ex Servicemen and Women, members of the American Legion and members of the public.
Standing in front of the plaque of Padraig Pearse, John Murphy from the Boyle Branch of the Ex Servicemen and Women read the Proclamation.
Those present then oberved a minutes silence.
Michael Noone on behalf of the American Legion and Michael Rushe on behalf of the Ex Servicemen and Women laid wreaths.
Flag bearers were Dermott Davitt and Paddy Joe Lynch.
