Abbey Community College in Boyle was among approximately 730 secondary schools nationwide that remained closed today as teachers placed pickets in a row over reform of the Junior Certificate.
350,00 second level students are affected by the strike with The Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland (ASTI) and the Teachers Union of Ireland (TUI) threatening another follow up one day stoppage in January.
